BACKGROUND
Facilitated Solutions was established in response to the growing
need for more effective ways to resolve conflict in the workplace.
Mediation is an affordable alternative to litigation, arbitration, and
other conventional dispute resolution mechanisms.
WHAT WE DO
Facilitated Solutions offers a wide range of services including:

Facilitated Solutions provides workplace mediation services and
training workshops to the City of Winnipeg, Health Sciences Centre,
Manitoba Teachers’ Society, and a variety of public, private, and
non-profit organizations.
Facilitated Solutions encourages a voluntary and collaborative
approach to problem solving and provides a safe and respectful climate in
which to assist in resolving conflict and in developing harmonious
relationships and respectful workplaces.

Facilitated Solutions is committed to empowering individuals to
talk about difficult issues, manage their differences, discover solutions,
and build positive relationships.
WHO WE ARE
Facilitated Solutions mediators have a wide range of expertise in
interpersonal and group facilitation. The mediators have diverse
professional backgrounds including education, social services, law, and
the corporate sector. The mediators are all actively involved in the
alternative dispute resolution field and have successfully facilitated
workplace disputes in non-profit, public, and private sectors.
MEET THE TEAM

Adrian Challis has provided services in interpersonal mediation, group facilitation and management coaching to a wide range of private and public sector organizations throughout Manitoba. In his previous work as a teacher, guidance counsellor and project coordinator, he developed and implemented a variety of dispute resolution models designed to assist students, teachers and parents. He received his training through Mediation Services of Winnipeg, the Continuing Education Department at the University of Manitoba and the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Adrian Challis
|
David Dyck has been working and studying in the field of conflict resolution for more than 15 years. In his work with Mediation Services of Winnipeg as a lead trainer and mediator from 1991-97, Dave helped develop many of the courses in their Certificate Programme. His current focus is on mediating workplace conflicts, personal coaching, and designing and leading training courses in the private, public, and community-based sectors. He holds Bachelor of Arts (1991) and Master of Arts (1999) degrees in Conflict Resolution Studies and a Diploma in Mediation Skills.

David Dyck
|
David Falk is a seasoned conflict resolution practitioner, having worked in the field since 1990 in a variety of settings as a mediator, trainer, facilitator, academic, and workplace consultant. He has been involved in assessing and intervening in conflict situations and providing consultation to many organizations throughout Canada. He has served on the faculty of Menno Simons College at the University of Winnipeg and helped to develop its conflict resolution studies program. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters degree in Conflict Resolution Studies.

David Falk
|
Sandra Koop Harder has 10 years of experience in mediation, training and program administration. In her work at Mediation Services, Sandy coordinated the Training Program and provided mediation in victim/offender, family, community and workplace contexts. She also has international experience in the field, most recently working with communities in conflict in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Currently, Sandy provides intake and administration for Facilitated Solutions. She also does some work as a practitioner.

Sandra Koop Harder

Anu Osborne is a partner with the law firm of Cherniack Smith, where she practises in the areas of family mediation, workplace, collaborative family law, and family law. She provides training in conflict resolution through Mediation Services, as well as privately to lawyers and other professionals in collaborative law and conflict resolution for collaborative law. Anu received her mediation training from Daniel Hamoline, Mediation Services and the Justice Institute of British Columbia. She is certified by Family Mediation Canada as a Comprehensive Family Mediator.

Anu Osborne

Louise Pelletier brings a background in sociology, justice and law enforcement, and social work to her work as a mediator. She has worked in the public, private and non-profit sectors providing education, administration, communication, and social services. In addition, she has volunteered for more than 10 years in the areas of victim-offender, family, community, and youth mediation and has provided group facilitation. She also serves as a mentor, coach, and trainer for courses offered by Mediation Services.

Louise Pelletier

Janet P. Schmidt has worked full time as a mediator for more than 15 years. In her work with Mediation Services, she has developed several training courses and continues to coordinate the training program. From 1996 to 1999, Janet developed a nine-month conflict transformation program in a pan-African Institution in Zambia, as well as teaching throughout Africa. Since 1999 her focus has been exclusively on workplace disputes. Janet holds a Master of Education degree with a focus on organizational behaviour and psychology.

Janet Schmidt

Ruth Branson brings experience in various sectors to her work as a mediator. Added to her law and business background, she has many years’ experience in human resources management. She has also been an active volunteer in various community and professional organizations. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, and Masters of Business Administration; she is also a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). She received her mediation and negotiation training and certification through the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Ruth Branson

Dorothy Barg Neufeld has extensive experience as a mediation practitioner with family, community, victim-offender and workplace conflict. She was Staff Coordinator and Case Coordinator at Mediation Services for 18 years and is deeply committed to the work of building better understanding through facilitated dialogue. Dorothy is part of the training team for the Mediation Certificate Program.
