Why Choose FS?

The arena of workplace conflict resolution services is vast and growing exponentially.  At the same time, it is relatively young professional field.  In Winnipeg alone there are many different organizations, private practitioners and lawyers who are offering services to workplaces struggling with conflict.  So why choose FS?

Workplace conflict management is our specialty.  Over 90% of the conflict resolution and mediation services provided by FS is in the context of organizational conflict.

Providing workplace conflict intervention services is the primary focus of FS, and has been since its inception in 2002.  This specialization means that FS has unique expertise in both delivering services using a wide variety of models adapted to each unique context, and the subsequent insight of years of experience and thousands of hours dealing specifically with workplace conflict.

All FS Partners are both active workplace mediators and trainers in workplace mediation.

FS is deeply committed to the development of the mediation field.  The rare combination of practitioner/trainer places FS as a leader in pushing the boundaries of workplace conflict intervention models, growing the next generation of new workplace mediators and being a premiere national resource for advanced professional development for veteran mediators and conflict management specialists.

FS has specialized expertise in working with groups.

Interpersonal tensions are often placed against the broader backdrop of group difficulties.  FS understands the complicated dynamics of organizational conflicts and has developed models and intervention tools grounded in experience to help address tensions at all levels of an organization.  FS' expertise in this unique and complex process of leading group assessments and interventions has been sought after not only by organizational leaders looking for resources and assistance but by experienced mediators who are seeking to expand their range of services to include working with groups in conflict.  Currently, FS is the sole provider of training for all federal government mediators in this specialized area of practice.

FS is the only organized collective of workplace mediators in Manitoba that works together for support and development.

FS is committed to working as a collective to provide both support and accountability to the practice of mediation and conflict intervention.  FS' commitment to using a co-mediation/co-facilitation model is one demonstration of this value.  Using a peer supervision model of accountability, FS practitioners meet regularly to consult with one another on a variety of practice related issues.  Peer-led education and external professional development opportunities are highly valued.

Collectively, the FS Partners have over 100 years of experience in workplace mediation and conflict intervention.

Julius Caesar is often credited with having said: Experience is the greatest teacher.  Facilitated Solutions knows this to be true.  While knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms and dynamics of conflict are of course critical, there is no supplement for experience.  100 years of experience translates into thousands upon thousands of hours in the mediation room, helping clients struggle through a vast range of extremely difficult circumstances.  And with this experience comes a very specific expertise, resourcing clients, both individuals and groups at any and all organizational levels, to work through tensions and conflicts towards more harmonious and productive relationships.
